Thanks for your review, Paul! We appreciate your patience with the delivery—the tracking shows your order was in transit for 8 days, which is within the usual timeframe for Far North QLD, though wet weather can sometimes contribute to delays.

The small insects you noticed were likely flies (possibly larvae too) attracted to the manure the worms are packed in. This is common and usually settles once the worms are introduced to their new environment.

As for feeding, worms love soft fruit and vegetable scraps, leafy greens, pumpkin, and zucchini. They also appreciate crushed eggshells, tea bags, and coffee grounds (in moderation). It’s great that you’re avoiding onions, citrus, bread, and tomatoes—also be sure to avoid chilli, meat, and any cooked or processed foods. Let us know if you need any more tips!

In our product description, we do recommend filling the base of the bed with lighter organic materials such as straw, grass clippings, wood chips, or leaves before adding soil. This approach helps prevent the sides of the bed from buckling under the weight of heavy soil and also promotes healthy drainage and plant growth.
