  •  Pinguicula, or Butterworts, are easy care small carnivorous plants that make great additions to your indoor plant collection. Not only do they look pretty, with their gorgeous bright pink flowers, but they also do a great job at controlling fungus gnats. Check out our Pinguicula care advice here. The main points to note is that they don't like soil, and fertiliser will kill them. We grow them in sphagnum moss, and they are bottom watered with room temperature tap water only. Some say they should be watered with distilled water, which you should consider if you have particularly hard tap water. Here in Melbourne, the tap water is fine.

***please note that Pinguicula become dormant in cold weather. Their leaves shrink and become non-carnivorous. We keep them in a heated room, so they will be in their 'active' carnivorous state upon arrival.

  • This plant will be sent in its pot. The flowers don't ship well, and so will be cut off before sending. We only ship plants to non-quarantine states (sorry sorry WA, TAS and NT residents).

Shipping of plants is capped at $15.00 per order. This includes the packing materials and labour times. We use recycled packing where possible to reduce our waste and keep cost down, but we ensure that all packing material is sturdy enough to resist damage during transit.

If no one is home to receive your order, the parcel will be left in a safe place. We will not request signature on delivery, as parcels sent back to the post office may not get picked up for days, therefore increasing the amount of stress placed on the plant(s) inside.

This plant can also be picked up from the Northern Wellbeing Centre at 113C miller st, Epping VIC, by appointment only.
