Anthurium Pallidiflorum is a rare and stunning plant that boasts long, pendulous, velvet leaves in a deep green hue.
In the past, this plant has been confused with Anthurium Vittarifolium (and some are still selling vittarifolium as Pallidiflorum). Anthurium Pallidiflorum has longer, more slender leaves with a velvety texture that can reach up to 2 feet in length. On the other hand, Anthurium Vittarifolium has slightly shorter, wider leaves that are also pendulous in shape, but with a satin - glossy finish. Anthurium Pallidiflorum has very deep green leaves, while Anthurium Vittarifolium's leaves are a little lighter in colour.

Velvet leaf Anthuriums such as this one need very specific conditions to thrive. This is not an easy care plant. If you live in the southern states of Australia, we recommend a humidifier, greenhouse, or similar to house your velvet leaf anthuriums. These plants are endemic to the tropics, and therefore require warmth and humidity to grow. Some collectors push the limits of these plants, growing them in below optimal conditions, but we don't recommend this unless you are an experienced grower.
