Hoya Polyneura – The Fishtail Hoya

The Hoya Polyneura, often called the "Fishtail Hoya" for its distinct, fishtail-shaped leaves, is native to the forests of Northern India. This trailing plant is a great addition for Hoya enthusiasts seeking something unique.

What to Expect

The plant shown in the photos is a representation of the Hoya Polyneura you will receive, ensuring you know what to expect in terms of size and appearance.

Why Choose Hoya Polyneura?

  • Distinctive Foliage: Features uniquely shaped leaves that resemble a fishtail.
  • Trailing Habit: Ideal for hanging pots, allowing its growth to cascade naturally.
  • Easy Care: While maintaining the typical Hoya preference for bright, indirect light and well-draining soil, this species has a slightly higher water requirement compared to others.

Care Guidelines for Hoya Polyneura

Ensure your Hoya Polyneura thrives with these care tips:

  • Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight should be avoided as it can scorch the delicate leaves.
  • Watering: Water more frequently than other Hoyas, ensuring the soil remains slightly moist but not waterlogged. Let the top few cm of soil dry out between watering.
  • Soil: Use a well-draining potting mix suited for Hoyas or epiphytic plants to prevent root rot.
  • Temperature and Humidity: Thrives in warm, humid conditions, typical of its native habitat.

Add the Hoya Polyneura to your collection and appreciate its distinctive foliage and straightforward care requirements.

We ship plants every Monday to non-quarantine states. Please place your order before 2 pm on Sunday to ensure your plant is sent the following Monday. Orders placed after this time may not be shipped until the following week.

Orders to WA and TAS are shipped on selected dates only due to quarantine requirements. Orders for WA and TAS must be placed by 12 pm (midday) on the Friday before dispatch. Please see the list of WA and TAS shipping dates at the bottom of this page.

Shipping for plants to non-quarantine states is capped at $18.00 per order. Shipping for plants to WA and TAS is capped at $30.00 per order. We currently do not ship plants to NT.

Shipping costs include packing materials, labour, and certification where required. We use recycled packaging where possible to reduce waste and keep costs down, while ensuring all packing materials are sturdy enough to protect your plants during transit.

If no one is home to receive your order, the parcel will be left in a safe place. We do not request signature on delivery, as parcels returned to the post office may not be collected for several days, which can place additional stress on the plant(s) inside.
