Hoya Nicholsoniae 'New Guinea Ghost' Splash – Unique Silvery Foliage

Native to Papua New Guinea, the Hoya Nicholsoniae 'New Guinea Ghost' is a fast-growing and easy-care plant known for its unique foliage. The silvery green leaves of this Hoya can develop pastel pink or purple tones in bright light.  We've found that our propagations are not as silvery as the mother plant, and currently display splashes of silver on each leaf. With a change in light levels, they may become more silver - however this is not something we can guarantee. Either way, we think our propagated sale plants are stunning, and love the unique contrast between the green leaves, silver splashes, and sun-stressed pinky-purple patches.

Why Choose Hoya Nicholsoniae 'New Guinea Ghost' Splash?

  • Dynamic Colouration: The leaves of this Hoya may shift from green-silvery tones to pastel pink and purple under strong light. Even without heavy silver variegation, the foliage offers a stunning visual contrast.
  • Easy Care: This Hoya is low-maintenance and grows quickly, making it a perfect choice for both seasoned plant collectors and beginners.

Care Instructions for Hoya Nicholsoniae 'New Guinea Ghost' Splash

This Hoya follows general care guidelines:

  • Light: Thrives in bright, indirect light. Under stronger light, it may develop its pastel pink and purple tones. In lower light, the silver variegation may become more prominent.
  • Watering: Allow the soil to dry out slightly between waterings, ensuring it doesn’t sit in water to avoid root rot.
  • Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity but can adapt to standard indoor conditions.
