Fatsia japonica – Bold Architectural Foliage

Fatsia japonica is a striking foliage plant known for its large hand-shaped leaves and strong architectural form. Its vibrant green foliage adds instant structure to indoor spaces and sheltered outdoor areas, making it a popular choice for those wanting a bold statement plant without complicated care requirements.

Key Features

  • Large  Leaves: Vibrant green, palmate foliage that creates strong visual impact.
  • Structural Growth Habit: Upright and well-branched, ideal as a feature plant.
  • Adaptable: Tolerates a range of indoor light conditions once established.
  • Low Maintenance: Hardy and forgiving compared to many large-leaf plants.

Care Requirements

  • Light: Prefers bright, indirect light but will tolerate medium to lower light. Avoid harsh direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.
  • Watering: Water when the top 3–5 cm of soil has dried. Keep evenly moist but not waterlogged.
  • Humidity: Enjoys moderate humidity but adapts well to normal indoor conditions.

Shipping

This plant will be sent in its plastic growing pot.

We ship plants every Monday to non-quarantine states. Please place your order before 2 pm on Sunday to ensure your plant is sent the following Monday. Orders placed after this time may not be shipped until the following week.

Orders to WA and TAS are shipped on selected dates only due to quarantine requirements. Orders for WA and TAS must be placed by 12 pm (midday) on the Friday before dispatch. Please see the list of WA and TAS shipping dates at the bottom of this page.

Shipping for plants to non-quarantine states is capped at $18.00 per order. Shipping for plants to WA and TAS is capped at $30.00 per order. We currently do not ship plants to NT.

Shipping costs include packing materials, labour, and certification where required. We use recycled packaging where possible to reduce waste and keep costs down, while ensuring all packing materials are sturdy enough to protect your plants during transit.

If no one is home to receive your order, the parcel will be left in a safe place. We do not request signature on delivery, as parcels returned to the post office may not be collected for several days, which can place additional stress on the plant(s) inside.

This plant can also be picked up from Northern Wellbeing Centre, 113C Miller Street, Epping VIC. If you select this option at checkout, we will email you to arrange a pickup time.
