Alocasia baginda ‘Silver Dragon’ is a Jewel Alocasia known for its thick, textured leaves with a pale, silvery-green surface and darker vein structure. The leaf undersides show distinctive red to maroon veining, giving the plant visual interest from all angles. This is a compact species that forms a low, structured plant rather than growing tall.

The plant shown in the images is a representation of the plant you will receive. Leaf texture and colour definition continue to develop as the plant matures.

Care Instructions

  • Light Requirements: Prefers bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sun to prevent leaf scorch.
  • Watering: Allow the top few centimetres of soil to dry before watering. Like other Jewel Alocasia, Alocasia baginda ‘Silver Dragon’ is sensitive to both prolonged dryness and consistently wet soil. Check moisture before watering.
  • Soil: Use a well-draining mix to avoid root rot and allow for airflow around the roots.
  • Temperature: Keep in warm indoor conditions above 15°C. Cooler temperatures may slow growth or result in temporary dormancy; growth resumes when conditions warm.
  • Humidity: Tolerates standard indoor humidity but may show stronger leaf development with moderate humidity.

This plant will be sent in its plastic growing pot.

We ship plants every Monday to non-quarantine states. Please place your order before 2 pm on Sunday to ensure your plant is sent the following Monday. Orders placed after this time may not be shipped until the following week.

Orders to WA and TAS are shipped on selected dates only due to quarantine requirements. Orders for WA and TAS must be placed by 12 pm (midday) on the Friday before dispatch. Please see the list of WA and TAS shipping dates at the bottom of this page.

Shipping for plants to non-quarantine states is capped at $18.00 per order. Shipping for plants to WA and TAS is capped at $30.00 per order. We currently do not ship plants to NT.

Shipping costs include packing materials, labour, and certification where required. We use recycled packaging where possible to reduce waste and keep costs down, while ensuring all packing materials are sturdy enough to protect your plants during transit.

If no one is home to receive your order, the parcel will be left in a safe place. We do not request signature on delivery, as parcels returned to the post office may not be collected for several days, which can place additional stress on the plant(s) inside.

This plant can also be picked up from Northern Wellbeing Centre, 113C Miller Street, Epping VIC. If you select this option at checkout, we will email you to arrange a pickup time.
