Alocasia Green Velvet 

Alocasia Micholitziana 'Green Velvet' features dark green, velvety leaves with striking light green veins. Known for its dramatic appearance, this variety becomes an impressive feature plant as it matures. The last image shows an example of a mature specimen, all other photos display examples of sale plants. 

Deep Green Leaves with a Soft Finish

The foliage has a unique, velvety surface that gives this plant its name. Pale green veins run through the darker background, enhancing the strong contrast between colour and texture.

Thrives in Bright, Humid Conditions

Prefers indirect light and stable humidity. Grows best in warm environments, with steady care supporting healthy, vibrant foliage.

Simple Care Requirements

  • Light: Indirect, bright
  • Water: Keep soil moist, avoid overwatering
  • Humidity: Prefers moderate to high levels (60 - 80% RH)
  • Temperature: Minimum 15°C
  • Fertiliser: Monthly during active growth

Note: In cooler months, growth may slow or stop. If exposed to very cold temperatures, the plant can die back to its corm. This is a natural dormancy process. As long as the corm remains healthy, new growth will emerge when conditions warm up again

This plant will be sent in its plastic growing pot.

We ship plants every Monday to non-quarantine states. Please place your order before 2 pm on Sunday to ensure your plant is sent the following Monday. Orders placed after this time may not be shipped until the following week.

Orders to WA and TAS are shipped on selected dates only due to quarantine requirements. Orders for WA and TAS must be placed by 12 pm (midday) on the Friday before dispatch. Please see the list of WA and TAS shipping dates at the bottom of this page.

Shipping for plants to non-quarantine states is capped at $18.00 per order. Shipping for plants to WA and TAS is capped at $30.00 per order. We currently do not ship plants to NT.

Shipping costs include packing materials, labour, and certification where required. We use recycled packaging where possible to reduce waste and keep costs down, while ensuring all packing materials are sturdy enough to protect your plants during transit.

If no one is home to receive your order, the parcel will be left in a safe place. We do not request signature on delivery, as parcels returned to the post office may not be collected for several days, which can place additional stress on the plant(s) inside.

This plant can also be picked up from Northern Wellbeing Centre, 113C Miller Street, Epping VIC. If you select this option at checkout, we will email you to arrange a pickup time.
