We could give this hybrid an over-the-top collector name like 'Anthurium Dark Dramatic Mega Hype Hybrid', but we'd prefer to just call it what it is. The parent plants shown in the images are the exact plants these seeds were taken from. The pollen parent is a wild Anthurium Dark Complex x Black noID. The seed parent is a Forgetti x .

How Your Seeds Will Arrive

Seeds are shipped already germinating inside moist paper towel. On arrival, gently remove the seeds and transfer them into your preferred germination medium. If any roots are attached to the towel, wet the paper first to help release them without damage.

Recommended Growing Media

  • Common Method: Start in sphagnum moss, then move seedlings to a well-draining aroid soil mix once they have 3–4 leaves.
  • Our Method: Start seeds in vermiculite, then transition to perlite before potting into your usual mix.

Humidity & Temperature

  • Maintain very high humidity while seedlings are small.
  • Warm conditions are important — aim to keep above 20°C.
  • Use a closed container (clear takeaway container, mini greenhouse, tub, or jar) to retain humidity.
  • If ambient temperatures are lower, place the container on a heat mat.

Ventilation & Early Feeding

Once the first leaf has formed, introduce a small amount of ventilation by slightly opening the container lid or adding a few small holes. This gradually allows the medium to dry between waterings.

Begin feeding lightly at this stage. We use GT Complete Focus at approximately 2 ml per litre.

Transition to Normal Growing Conditions

Once seedlings have 3–4 leaves, they can be moved out of the germination container into their regular growing environment. Aim for humidity around ~60% or higher for steady growth.

Shipping

This plant will be sent bare rooted, wrapped in sphagnum moss.

We ship plants every Monday to non-quarantine states. Please place your order before 2 pm on Sunday to ensure your plant is sent the following Monday. Orders placed after this time may not be shipped until the following week.

Orders to WA and TAS are shipped on selected dates only due to quarantine requirements. Orders for WA and TAS must be placed by 12 pm (midday) on the Friday before dispatch. Please see the list of WA and TAS shipping dates at the bottom of this page.

Shipping for plants to non-quarantine states is capped at $18.00 per order. Shipping for plants to WA and TAS is capped at $30.00 per order. We currently do not ship plants to NT.

Shipping costs include packing materials, labour, and certification where required. We use recycled packaging where possible to reduce waste and keep costs down, while ensuring all packing materials are sturdy enough to protect your plants during transit.

If no one is home to receive your order, the parcel will be left in a safe place. We do not request signature on delivery, as parcels returned to the post office may not be collected for several days, which can place additional stress on the plant(s) inside.

This plant can also be picked up from Northern Wellbeing Centre, 113C Miller Street, Epping VIC. If you select this option at checkout, we will email you to arrange a pickup time.

Current Growing Conditions

This plant has been propagated and grown in a hydroponics medium. All of our hydroponics plants are potted up in leca, perlite, or MAB grow, and left sitting in 1 - 2 cm of nutrient solution at all times. Our nutrient solution is made up of Growth Technology Foliage Focus or Complete Focus diluted to 5 ml per litre of water.

This plant is currently growing in our climate controled grow room. Temperatures sit abouve 20 C at all times, and relative humidity does not drop below 60%.

Suggested Care on Arrival

This plant will arrive with its roots wrapped in sphagnum moss. If you would like to continue growing this plant as we have, in a hydroponic medium, then we suggest you pot it up shortly after receiving it.

In general, we find that plants transition from hydroponics mediums to soil without any issues. However, if you want to transition the plant into soil with extra caution, then you can keep it in the moss for a few days. This will allow your plant to acclimate to your environment before transitioning to a new medium. You may need to re-moisten the moss during this time to prevent it from completely drying out.

When ready, you can pot the plant up in a well-draining soil mix. 50% premium potting mix and 50% perlite works well, but adding extra amendments such as orchid bark for extra drainage can help in creating an optimum soil mix. These extra amendments should especially be used for anthuriums, which require extra drainage. If you require more specific information about soil mix, please contact us.

If you require a growing pot and/or potting medium (soil or perlite) let us know in the notes section at check-out and we’ll send it with your bare rooted plant.
