Variegated ficus lyrata, or fiddle leaf fig, has beautiful creamy white leaf margins, with two-toned green in the centre .

These plants are hard to propagate, and hence rarely become available. They are also prone to browning on the white parts of their leaves (just like many other variegated plants).  This is hard to avoid when moving the plant around, as it seems that a change in their lighting conditions causes browning, but you can be carefully cut it off it bothers you. We like to sell these small because there is a good chance they will experience some browning when acclimating to their new growing conditions. As the plant gets nice new healthy leaves, you can remove the lower leaves (assuming they've experienced browning). Keeping the plant in a consistent environment as possible and avoiding moving it from one spot to another will reduce the chance of browning.

Please note that this is not an easy care plant. Just like non-variegated Fiddle Leaf Figs, these are very sensitive to over and under watering, and will often develop oedema (dark coloured veining on the leaves due to the roots taking too much water). We keep these in a translucent pot so its easy to see when they require watering.

Shipping

This plant will be sent in its plastic growing pot

We only ship plants on Mondays. Please order before 2pm on Sunday to ensure your plant will be sent the following Monday. Orders placed after this time MIGHT not be shipped untill the following week.

We only ship plants to non-quarantine states (sorry sorry WA, TAS and NT residents). Shipping of plants is capped at $18.00 per order. This includes the packing materials and labour times. We use recycled packing where possible to reduce our waste and keep cost down, but we ensure that all packing material is sturdy enough to resist damage during transit.

If no one is home to receive your order, the parcel will be left in a safe place. We will not request signature on delivery, as parcels sent back to the post office may not get picked up for days, therefore increasing the amount of stress placed on the plant(s) inside.

This plant can also be picked up from the Northern Wellbeing Centre; 113C miller st, Epping VIC. If you select this option at check-out, we will email you to organise a pick-up time.
